Issue #2 – Refu(SAL/SE/GE)

Refu(SAL/SE/GE)

Jun Qi

Refu(SAL/SE/GE) is a webcomic and subversive Bildungsroman in which the coming-of-age is enacted in multiple turns of refusal instead of further assimilation into and acceptance by and of society. Through repeated and varied refusals, perhaps we may learn to seek some sort of refuge in the literal refuse and immanent shit that is human being.

Jun Qi is an extremely unsociable prosocial, highly tech-critical techie, ever-curious artist, and incorrigible dilettante. In her now refused past life, she was a senior software developer and tech lead at a multinational software consultancy. Nowadays, amongst other things (spoken in true dilettante fashion), she is learning how to grow her own food regeneratively and make ecologically sound compost.

She shares her art at https://tanjunqi.art, and hangs around the Fediverse at @tuatarara@mastodon.art. If you prefer your comics less serious and more silly, you might want to check out https://i-went-to-japan.tanjunqi.art/.
